Our Church

Abyssinia Baptist Church is a Christ-centered congregation committed to worship, discipleship, fellowship, and service. For generations, our church has served as a spiritual home where individuals and families can grow in faith, deepen their relationship with God, and live out the teachings of Jesus Christ in everyday life.

Located in the heart of Norfolk, Abyssinia is a multi-generational church that reflects the diversity and energy of our community.

We are honored to serve and connect with those who live, work, and study nearby—including students from Old Dominion University and Norfolk State University, as well as members of our local military community.

Our mission is to make disciples of Jesus Christ who live out their faith now—serving, leading, and loving in ways that impact lives and transform the world.
